（路透紐約聯合國總部17日電）聯合國大會今天呼籲，2012年倫敦奧運期間，世界各國暫時停火。這是1990年代復興的古希臘傳統，不過聯合國成員國不一定會實踐。

 

　　希臘是奧運的發源地，戰禍頻仍的城邦會休戰多達3個月，好讓運動員能自由往返各地參加比賽。

　　提出決議案的2012倫敦奧運籌備委員會主席科歐（Sebastian Coe）說，忽略「世界各地持續的衝突魅影」是不可能的，「若認為運動是我們所有社會痼疾的完整解答或萬靈藥，那是很愚蠢的」。

 

　　科歐說：「但是運動的確可以修補破裂的社會群體，重建信任，重新找回自尊，培育我們普遍人性的核心價值。」科歐在1980年和1984年奧運會上曾獲賽跑金牌。中央社（翻譯）
